Marketing is one of those confusing concepts

Is it the same thing as sales?
No, although it is (or should be) closely related.
Think of marketing as the conversation you are
having with your customer. It will take many
forms throughout your relationship with him/her:
hard copy, word-of-mouth, digital, as well as your
direct conversations with the customer.

Isn’t it funny how many entrepreneurs don’t reveal the sides of themselves that are not directly associated with their business YET make them who they are? I see Other Tidbits as a way for you to know me and perhaps have something resonate with you that will engender and endear our relationship.

I was born in Oklahoma. On a farm & ranch. Yes, I am really the farmer’s daughter. From this incredible upbringing I learned hard work, perseverance, and resilience. I carry these qualities with me in all endeavors.

I have degrees in journalism, medical technology and (1/2 degree) in electrical engineering. My best friend in college (all of them) called me “perversely diverse”. I wear that adjective proudly.

I’m married to a man whom I admire greatly for his ability to love all people, understand and appreciate diversity, and embrace this wonderful world community in which we live. He also keeps me sane/insane. 🙂

I’m been in sales and marketing for most of my adult life. It has afforded me the opportunity to meet, know, and care for people from all over the world in a multitude of industries. I find getting to know people and getting to know their businesses absolutely the most interesting work I do. It’s funny how curiosity works; it begets more curiosity.

I’ve lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, France, California and now in Oregon. The one message I have derived from those places: There are wonderful people everywhere.
